Those in the U.S. who want a classic Porsche 911 that will be drivable no matter what emissions regulations come down the road, or those who simply want a guilt-free classic 911 experience, are in luck. British firm Everatti has debuted its first U.S.-spec electrified 964 generation Porsche 911. The brand has made waves in other portions of the world giving 911s of yesteryear electric powertrains, and has now brought its expertise to the U.S. by converting a donor 964 to a classically styled, modern EV. The Everrati Porsche 911 (964) is now powered by what the company refers to as a state-of-the-art OEM-grade EV powertrain.
The conversion sees the removal of the original engine and gearbox replaced by a 62-kWh battery mounted directly in their place. The battery is also said to be capable of fast charging, even though its capabilities have not yet been revealed. According to InsideEVs, Everatti’s older iteration of the vehicle, which had a 52kW battery, could charge from 10 to 100 percent in less than an hour. The new model could potentially fare even better, possibly getting a full charge in less than an hour.
The new Everrati 911 964 EV retains the classic design of the car it originates from with a few modern touches. Alongside the electric powertrain, Everrati also upgraded some other components of the car, including enhancing its suspension for better handling, optimizing weight distribution, improving safety, and of course, the immediate response of electric power.
The car also has upgraded suspension components and a higher-performance electric powertrain than its sibling, allowing it to reportedly accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than four seconds. The car also boasts a range of up to 230 miles (372 kilometers) per charge and fast charging capabilities, making it a strong contender for long-distance travel.
As reported by InsideEVs, Everatti says it’s focusing on “future-proofing” its classic cars while ensuring they retain their timeless looks and the feel of the original, without burning any gas in the process. Its partnership with Aria Group, a California-based design and engineering firm, has allowed Everrati to bring this elegant electric classic design to life. Aria Group brings its expertise in low-volume manufacturing and its experience in electric vehicle engineering, helping Everrati create a unique and powerful driving experience for those in the U.S.
The Everrati 911 964 EV is definitely an exciting addition to the electric classic market. This will no doubt be a hit among those enthusiasts who want to experience a classic car without burning any fuel, while also having a fun and sustainable time driving it. However, this is not the first time that Everrati has worked on vintage cars. Previously they have also electrified various other models including a Superformance GT40 and Land Rover Series IIA.
Everatti hasn’t announced pricing for its U.S. 911 conversion yet, but based on prior models, it won’t exactly be cheap. But with its fast charging time, impressive range, and modern technology upgrades, the Everrati 911 964 EV is set to handle the growing demand for electric classics in North America for those who have the dough.
