Helix motors sit at the heart of Everrati’s in-house electric drive units, redefining iconic sports and classic cars for the modern era – including the Porsche 911 (993) concept, Ford GT40 and Mercedes-Benz SL “Pagoda”.
Milton Keynes, UK, 14 October 2026 – Helix, a trading name of Integral Powertrain Ltd, has partnered with Everrati to revitalise and electrify iconic sports and classic cars for the modern era.
Everrati is redefining the world’s iconic classic cars with a unique, modern driving experience. Each car’s past is preserved through meticulous, concours-standard restoration while receiving a precisely-engineered, fully-electric powertrain – enhancing performance, refinement and sustainability.
Helix has supplied propulsion technologies for several Everrati vehicle restoration projects, harnessing knowledge from decades of elite motorsport development and its world-class power-dense electric motors and inverters.
In each vehicle, the e-powertrain is tailored to the unique physical constraints and output requirements to deliver a result which is true to the original vehicle, while meeting modern standards for sustainability, range and the driving experience.
Porsche 911 (993)

The Porsche 911 (993) is celebrated by sports car enthusiasts as the definitive air-cooled version of the Porsche 911. It’s recognised for its analogue driving experience, rear-engine drive dynamics and enduring grand touring capability.
The Everrati 993 concept preserves the iconic design and handling of the original, while adding an electric powertrain that delivers instant torque, smooth power delivery, reduced maintenance burden and zero tailpipe emissions.
Built around Helix’s powerful SPX242-175 motor is Everrati’s T-EDU, the brand’s own integrated electric drive system. Everrati T-EDU outputs 760hp of electric power, and is engineered for configurability, durability and repeatable performance under high-load operation.
The introduction of Porsche’s multi-link rear suspension architecture left limited integration space in the concept. To meet this, Helix and Everrati successfully configured the Helix SPX242-175 to accommodate the car’s novel suspension geometry, structural interfaces and thermal systems.
Ford GT40

The Ford GT40 remains one of motorsport’s most celebrated engineering achievements – defined by lightweight construction, compact proportions and an uncompromising focus on performance.
Helix’s expertise and engineering precision packaged an 800hp, 700V electric architecture within one of the most space-constrained supercar platforms ever produced – while preserving the balance, low mass and immediate power expected of a GT40.
At the centre of the powertrain are two Helix CTSM242-94 motors, integrated into Everrati’s O-Drive EDU, designed to deliver exceptional power density within an ultra-compact package.
Mercedes-Benz SL “Pagoda”

The Everrati Mercedes-Benz SL “Pagoda” programme required disciplined mass management and optimisation of every major system to retain the elegant proportions of the original luxury touring vehicle, while still achieving meaningful real-world range.
At the heart of the powertrain is a Helix CTSM242-94 motor, packaged within the vehicle’s transmission tunnel rather than the engine bay. With a motor mass of only 31.3kg, this compact solution preserves valuable space for battery placement while improving weight distribution, retaining a low centre of gravity and the longitudinal rear-wheel-drive dynamics for which the Pagoda was known.
The propulsion system was adapted to utilise existing structural interfaces and mounting locations wherever possible, avoiding unnecessary modification to the original body shell and preserving vehicle integrity. The architecture enables 68kWh battery capacity and up to 240 miles of range.
Leadership Commentary
Bradley Smith, Business Development Manager – Automotive, Helix, commented: “The electrification of classic cars is a project which speaks perfectly to the knowledge and experience that Helix brings to all of our clients. We have the technology and real-world problem-solving capabilities to bring world-leading electric propulsion solutions to restorations of iconic vehicles, which avoid compromising the much-loved design and driving experience that comes with them. We are proud of the work we have done to bring these classic vehicles into the electric era, and the working relationship we have built with the team at Everrati.”
Justin Lunny, Founder and CEO at Everrati, commented: “Our purpose is to redefine the world’s most iconic cars without losing what made them special in the first place. That means packaging serious performance into spaces that were never designed for it. Helix’s power-dense motors give our engineers the room to do exactly that, and combined with our own drive units, software and integration, they help create a platform we can take well beyond a single model.”
