911 restomod gets a battery, 200 mile range and 0-60mph time of under four seconds.
Despite enjoying approximately seven-odd minutes of sunshine each year, the United Kingdom buys more convertibles than anywhere else in Europe. And yet the sun’s rays are still more popular than seeing a widebody 964 on the road.
A rare car for an island that perennially hopes to get more than a rare glimpse of the sun, then. It’s the latest missive from electric purveyors Everrati, and like their other projects, it is a classic 964-generation Porsche 911 widebody cabriolet outfitted with a battery. Point of order: the modification is fully reversible, the company assures.
The restoration includes the addition of fully adjustable TracTive suspension, and the company has “worked meticulously to preserve the original ‘feel’ and character of the 964 Cabriolet”.
It’s also worked meticulously to outpower and muscle a 964 Turbo: like the Signature, there’s the option of a 440bhp tune or 500bhp. The latter is able to accelerate from 0-60mph in under four seconds. Away from that, Everrati reckons on a range of 200 miles.
“We are delighted to be expanding our product offering with a world-first in the form of our Porsche 911 (964) Wide Body Cabriolet,” said founder and boss Justin Lunny. “At present, the options open to buyers in the convertible EV market are extremely scarce, and we are proud to have created a cutting-edge convertible EV above and beyond what mainstream manufacturers are delivering.”
It’ll be expensive – that Signature 964 Coupe started at £250k – but then rarity comes at a price.
