A True Masterpiece in Engineering and Restoration from Everrati Provides a Thrilling Drive Experience Found in One of the World’s Most Iconic Automotive Designs

Everrati Automotive Limited (Everrati™) has gained global recognition as the leading pioneer of electric classic car conversion with a meticulous, professional approach towards engineering consistent with how today’s major automotive OEMs operate. The Everrati W113 280SL Pagoda is a prime example of the company’s industry-defining technology that futureproofs iconic cars through the integration of electric vehicle (EV) powertrains. The company’s fully electric state of the art W113 SL Pagoda is the epitome of their dedication to daily driving featuring a timeless vintage sports car that preserves the original intent of the celebrated collectible while intensely delivering incredible driving excitement.

Historically manufactured from 1967 to 1971 and known for its namesake concave removable top, the W113 230SL was lovingly nicknamed the Pagoda for that curving design line reminiscing the Japanese structure. With around 24,000 of these SL manufactured, Everrati saw an opportunity to restore the relatively prevalent but aging, neglected examples of the Pagoda and redefine late run models such as the 1968 280SL to electrification. The result is a gorgeous vintage style automobile that provides all the performance, safety, and convenience of a modern convertible while enjoying one of the world’s most celebrated automobile designs.

‘Everrati was founded on the belief that electrification can in many cases elevate some of the most beautiful, iconic classic cars ever created so that they can be driven today and by future generations. This electric Pagoda is a perfect example. There is a decades-long passion for vintage sports cars such as the SL, but the car’s everyday use prospects are daunting even after a pure restoration,’ comments Everrati Founder & CEO Justin Lunny. ‘Everrati specializes in fully engineered complete solutions that account for the incredible complexity involved in integrating a modern EV powertrain into a vintage vehicle. The Everrati Pagoda retains the integrity and design of its donor while safely integrating EV power to make for one of the most enjoyable everyday drive experiences available today.’

As one of the most stylish vehicles ever designed, Everrati took great care throughout the CAD design process to expertly incorporate an EV powertrain within the Pagoda. Restored to the highest level by a team of engineering and restoration specialists, the Everrati Pagoda is brought to life by a concours-standard restoration while receiving a powerfully engineered full-electric powertrain.

The first stage of the metamorphosis is a careful disassembly back to its bare chassis, in this case a 1968 230 SL. All bodywork, powertrain and interior components are removed from the legendary convertible. Following a complete strip-down, the chassis and body are then fully restored. A key stage of the careful restoration and re-engineering process is the integration of the car’s new electric propulsion system, a state-of-the-art EV powertrain with power delivery optimised specifically for the vehicle. Everrati is obsessive in its attention to detail and ensures that its in-car technology is optimized with proper weight distribution and chassis response to dramatically and smoothly enhance performance. Everrati took great care to ensure that the vehicle’s driving manners matched the spirit of the original, keeping all performance metrics as close to the curve of the donor SL Pagoda as possible.

The Everrati Pagoda incorporates the company’s in-house developed OEM-standard powertrain, which perfectly blends sector-leading IP with technology from the best Tier 1 automotive suppliers and the company’s own in-house expertise. With a stout 300 BHP and 300 NM of torque courtesy of the all-new High Power Dense OEM-grade 3 phase AC motor, Everrati’s impeccably restored and reimagined Pagoda is capable of speeds up to 124 miles per hour and a 0-60 mph time of 8.0 seconds. Regenerative braking offers an opportunity to further extend the electrified vehicle’s drive range, which begins at 160 miles at the Standard trim level. Even with the new EV powertrain, the Everrati Pagoda comes in at a similar weight to the original vehicle, around 1,430 kg with the 54.4 kWh battery pack and 1,500 kg with the enhanced 68 kWh pack.

Everrati’s Pagoda also features several interior amenities meant to seamlessly deliver modern technology in a period correct manner. One way in which Everrati truly goes above and beyond is the implementation of cast-aluminium door shells and crafting individually numbered alloy bonnets, bootlids, and door skins. A marvelously ornate bakelite steering wheel welcomes drivers framed by two large white-on-black dials: a speedometer and the former rev counter which is now an output in kW dial. Each dial looks original while delivering an easy-to-read, timeless display. Other wonderful details include German square box-weave carpets, a chrome-rimmed digital display and a classic radio face with Bluetooth connectivity.

Stylish cashmere leather interior from Scottish premium materials manufacturer Bridge of Weir provides extremely soft, comfortable seating. This same supple leather is also featured abundantly throughout the dashboard and door panels. As the lowest carbon output leather specifically designed for the automotive industry, the sleek interior perfectly complements the vibrant Le Mans Blue exterior colorway, further paying homage to the original’s history.

Safety is also paramount with each new Everrati commission, as Everrati’s restoration and engineering standards raise the bar in terms of vehicle safety. Everrati is the only car restorer of its kind that builds vehicles that have passed the extensive R100.01 electrical safety test.

Everrati’s W113 SL Pagoda comes in two different EV trim levels: Standard and Touring. The Standard Everrati SL Pagoda features lightweight agility meant to enhance performance, handling and deliver a spirited driving experience while offering increased luggage space due to the removal of the boot-mounted battery box. The SL Pagoda Touring is focused primarily on extended range for longer, relaxed journeys, retaining the classic SL sportiness, but prioritizing endurance and distance with increased battery capacity.

Founded as a company of car collectors, Everrati ensures that all EV engineering is reversible, should current or future owners want to revert back to a pure restoration. If customers wish, the car’s original internal combustion engine and transmission can be refurbished and placed in storage, or even incorporated into a piece of art if requested.

Pricing for a new Everrati Pagoda custom commission is available upon request. Everrati electric vehicle conversions start at a price of $300,000 plus the donor vehicle.
