With a range of 200 miles, could this classic restomod finally be the one to win favour with ardent 911 fans?

The Porsche 911 lineage has seen some fantastic spin-offs over the years, including the Carrera 2.7 RS, Speedster and the 964 RSR 3.8. The latter was built over six months in the early ‘90s and limited to just 51 examples, but now, Oxfordshire-based Everrati Automotive has brought the badge back with an electrified second-coming. The purists will love this.

Everrati starts by taking a standard 964 and fully restoring it, before slotting in a 63kWh battery pack and accompanying battery management system. This is a ‘Gen2’ version of the brand’s own battery unit, and features improved cooling and new software to revitalise performance.

Several electric motors send power to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential, resulting in a 3.7-second 0-60mph time. Everrati remains tight-lipped on exact outputs but has quoted an estimated range of 200 miles. So, while original RSRs are locked away in garages around the world, we may actually see a few of these converted restomods around city centres and at car meets. Posh car meets, of course.

Everrati has apparently focused on lightweight construction too, so there’s a carbon fibre body and the rear seats have been ditched in favour of a roll cage. The front two seats are trimmed in “the world’s lowest carbon leather”. Everrati says the effect of the weight saving means its 964 EV retains a similar mass to the original car. It even has Apple CarPlay, so you can choose your favourite ‘911 flat-six sounds’ playlist on Spotify to mask the silence.

Now on to the best bit: the exterior. Its retro design language remains and continues to have us weak at the knees, but Everrati has added an all-new aero package which includes a larger rear spoiler and a reworked front splitter. Retro 18-inch HRE alloys have also been fitted, though it’s not yet known just how much this 964 will cost.

“Like all our models, it features hand-built craftsmanship, with OEM-grade engineering processes, future-proofed via a state-of-the-art electric powertrain,” says Justin Lunny, founder and CEO of Everrati.

“We are committed to preserving the legacy of iconic vehicles while advancing the transition to sustainable luxury mobility. Our expertise in redefined Porsches positions us as the go-to international creator of redefined 911s and iconic cars.”

Founded in 2019, Everrati has recently unveiled electrified versions of icons such as the Ford GT40 and Mercedes-Benz SL Pagoda. We hope to see the Ssangyong Rodius next…
